I'm desperate, truth is I've been reading this manga called Cipher. It's an 80's manga by Minako Narita about a girl named Anise that wants to be friends with a popular guy in her high school named Siva (he's an actor), only to later discover that Siva and his twin brother have been switching places at school and work and... Well, I could spend some time writing a summary but I'll just tell you that they're both hot and like kissing (OMG! TWINCEST!), actually, no, no twincest, they're just very fond of each other (really!).
Why am I desperate? Because I can't find the fourth volume anywhere!!. I want it, desperately, but Aeternitas (the group that was working on it) is no more. Yes, I download manga, so SUE ME, it's not like I can just by a ticket and fly to the U.S. just to buy some manga (if I do go I buy).
Now what?, I only hope I can find someone who is working on this project or wait for some charitative soul (my godmother) to gift me with the remaining volumes.

Overqualified
Searching through the net, live journal to be more precise, I made a discovery, a very nice literary jewel, Overqualified. Not your usual type of novel, Overqualified is a story told through, of all things, cover letters.
I haven't been able to get my hands on the book (yet), it is based on a series of job application letters that the author Joey Comeau actually sent to companies and that he published on the web, and I have read those, and they're wonderfully good, making you laugh and hate yourself and the world and making you love yourself and the world, making you feel giddy, guilty, amused, disturbed, hungry, content and God knows what else.
The book, unlike the applications, follows a story line about a man whose brother got into an accident an how they have to live through that.
I recommend it, even if it's only the online ones, they're very good, and the first edition just sold out (it's not even in stores yet), second edition is coming out. Be good and buy it.

Cover letters are all the same. They're useless. You write the same lies over and over again, listing the store-bought parts of yourself that you respect the least. God knows how they tell anyone apart, but this is how it's done.
And then one day a car comes out of nowhere, and suddenly everything changes and you don't know if he'll ever wake up. You get out of bed in the morning, and when you sit down to write another paint-by-numbers cover letter, something entirely different comes out.
You start threatening instead of begging. You tell impolite jokes. You talk about your childhood and your sexual fantasies. You sign your real name and you put yourself honestly into letter after letter and there is no way you are ever going to get this job. Not with a letter like this.
And you send it anyway.

Breaking Dawn
Well, now.
I just got my hands in the latest (and supposedly last) book on the vampire series from Stephenie Meyers, "Breaking Dawn"....and I'm SCARED of reading it!, I just can't get myself to. I was on Meyer's web page and accidentally (I swear it was an accident!!) read some things that can be considered spoilers...and it spooked me! the words pregnancy and death coming together... as if marrying at 18 wasn't enough *shudders*.
Well, there's not much one can do about this...I mean, it's pretty much the end, though I don't remember getting myself so worked up with The Deathly Hallows.
I just can remember the first time I came in contact with Meyer's work, I was on a forum and a very nice member decided to share what she considered was a really good book. The title, the cover and the rushed summary interested me and so I downloaded it (yeah, downloaded, I know this may seem unfair for the writer, the publisher and all that stuff but I will make clear that you just CAN'T get this book and lots of others on my country, so the only way I and thousands of other people have to quench our thirst for literature is through the internet... and I DID buy the book at the first chance I had during a visit to the U.S.). It sat on my book folder for weeks maybe (I have tons of books in waiting and can't read them fast enough), then I finally got to it, read the first chapter... and just kept reading till the end, it got me hooked, it wasn't the first vampire book I've read (Anne Rice anyone?) so I was very familiar with the topic and the various forms writers develop it, the hole girls falls for vampire stuff. The only way I can justify my liking (liking? I love it!!) for the book was that it was so beautifully written, the settings, the situations, it all felt natural. All this wonderful character felt like they could actually fit in within the boundaries of their world, it felt like if vampires were to really exist they would be just like in Meyer's world. The was no exaggerating of characters, they were very realistic, with realistic problems and feelings and reactions. The story flowed easily and you can actual feel the dept at which this story is created.
I think I'm rambling.....sorry u_u...
To spare you from my lack of literary eloquence I'll just say that even though I cannot relate to the main character and that her being so dependent of her relationship just outright upsets me...I loved the book enough to buy it.
Breaking Dawn being the last of the trilogy, will it live up to my expectations?, will it end the conflict satisfactorily?...I'm just plain scared to read it... my gosh, pregnancy.

Goodness!
First post ever!!
....What am I doing blogging...?
Well, I'm not the kind of person that writes a lot or constantly, I'm just too lazy....¬_¬....But!!!! I'll change that! I have to!

Ah! well, I've been watching doramas lately, I finally got to finish Attention Please (wonder where I can get the 2008 Sydney Special), Hyper Ueto Aya is really cute, not much different from her character in Attack No.1.It
was also kind of weird watching Nishikido Ryo acting as a nice guy in in this series, I'm sure it's not his first "nice guy" character ever but his performance as a woman beater/sadistic/masochistic/obsessive/sick man in the dorama Last Friends just left a mark in me, I guess. Now I can't look at him without getting uncomfortable... I don't know if I'll be able to shake that impression of him that easily, but as long as he makes a good effort as an actor and makes me fall for his performance, then it'll all be alright.If you want to know more about Last Friends you can read the wonderful reviews at Memento.
